Joseph Hwang
SPECIAL SITUATIONS
Joseph Hwang, D.B.A is the Managing Director of Special Situations at Obra Capital and has been with the firm since 2018. Prior to joining Obra, he served as the Managing Director (Head) of Capital Markets for the JG Wentworth Company. He was responsible for the securitization program and all capital markets activities, and through his career has structured over $4 billion in insurance linked assets. Prior to JG Wentworth Company, he served in various leadership and capital markets roles at UnitedHealth Group, American Express, and TD Bank. Dr. Hwang holds a Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business, a Master of Science from Villanova School of Business, and a Doctor of Business Administration from Temple University’s Fox School of Business.
